Book Review: Risk It All by Katie Ruggle

Second in the series about the five Pax sisters and their bounty hunting business, you shouldn't have too much trouble picking up the plot if you missed out on reading the first one… but if you did read In Her Sights, don't expect much plot progression on the main drama introduced there, because this one really just takes a diversion and doesn't introduce any new information on that original plot.

Said diversion being the introduction of Henry, a bail skip with a big bounty the sisters could really use. Cara normally just handles research, but with all hands on deck, she plans on bringing Henry in. An attraction isn't just inconvenient, but turns potentially lethal when she's kidnapped by one of Henry's enemies. Henry unexpectedly rescues her and they end up on the run together… cue some trope-tastic scenes of Lost In The Wilderness, Snowed In Together and the evergreen There's Only One Bed.

It's all very predictable - I saw Henry's big reveal coming about 20 miles off - but it's also really well written. A quick read, it's about as unchallenging as a romantic suspense can get. There's plenty of action but I did find it a little too predictable. Four stars.
