Book Review: One More Shot by TL Alexander

This was a fun, light, sexy read. The only problem I had with it was that it was written in first person and the present tense, both of which are not my preferred styles of writing or reading. Mainly because I'm nosy and I like to know what other characters than the point-of-view protagonist are actually thinking, I guess!

Personal style preferences aside, this was a really enjoyable read. I liked Dannie, the heroine, and felt terribly sorry for her at the beginning of the book when it came to light just how badly she'd been treated by her husband. Her wariness when being pursued by Dino is perfectly understandable, their awkward interactions hilarious yet touching.

The book is well written and edited, and the story flows well. I felt at times the descriptions were a little lacking - we never really did get a sense of how Dannie herself looks apart from being blonde and a runner, and that her daughter thought she 'looked like' Dino, which since he was her romantic interest, seemed a little odd to me.

I'll give it four stars, and I'll be looking forward to reading the rest of the Girlfriends, Goddesses and Barflies series on publication!

You can find One More Shot on Amazon now.
